By failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail.
– Benjamin Franklin
You may go through life without preparing yourself most of the time and wonder why you don’t perform well… I have bad news for you. In order to excel at something, you need to work hard, practice, prepare yourself.
Sometimes it’s just a matter of thinking about it. Although I find it much easier to write it down to help to make a mental image, some people will achieve great things just by reading about it and think about it.
On the other hand, sports need more than that. You need to prepare your body to achieve what you want it to do. You can’t run a marathon without proper training.
A personal example I have faced was last year. I have registered to do a 5K run and I got lazy, I only started running a few weeks before. Let me tell ya, I didn’t achieve the goal I had set for myself. I even did worst than my first 5K I did a few years back. I did finish it, but I wasn’t happy about it. So this year, I am challenging myself to do a better job than my very first 5K. I have been running on the treadmill since January and Spring is finally here, so I plan to do some outside running as well.
To conclude, we need to prepare ourselves and work hard in order to achieve great things or excel in everything that we do.
