It’s crunch time!! One more week before my vacation! I’m so looking forward to it! I can finally say that I am finally back on track for my exercise regime and I have so much more energy.
This week’s highlights
I have increased the speed of my running! When I started this journey, I was putting the speed of my treadmill to 4.5 and an incline of 1.5. Now I am at 6.5 still at an incline of 1.5!!! Huge improvement!
In case you didn’t know about why adding an incline when on the treadmill.
The purpose of adding an incline between 1 and 1.5 while on the treadmill mimics running on the road. Since I am doing a 5K race this June, this is why I am putting an incline.
This week, I also included walking at lunchtime. Four of the five working days I went for a 30 mins walk. I even went for a walk in the rain! This probably helped me with my energy and focus in the afternoons.
I also increase my water intake. As a goal, in addition to what I usually drink, I decided to drink a 1L water bottle each evening, which I would normally drink maybe 1 or 2 glass of water? I gained weight for the first few days but lost a few pounds after. I’m guessing the fact that I wasn’t drinking enough before, that my body went into shock and retained the water. I am looking forward to seeing if I will lose more weight.
