My First Experience Doing an Escape Room… "Busted!"

For my husband’s birthday, I decided to do something different this year. I booked an escape room at The Crux in St. Catharines. I have chosen the JailBreak theme room which sounded fun. Don’t you think? It was in fact really interesting, challenging and entertaining. Our team name for the activity was “The Maybe Incredibles”.

They first put you in handcuffs and lock you in a prison cell. We had 50 minutes to find clues to get out of the cell and then escape the jail. It consisted of finding keys and codes to open different locks to finally shut down the alarm and open the exit door.

Let me tell ya, it was not as easy as you think and we failed miserably. BUSTED!

The mistake we made was not to look at the warden exiting the room, this would have helped so much knowing what we were looking for… As we were seeing the time go by, we got a bit frustrated as we really wanted so bad to succeed. We were not thinking outside the box enough. You really need to get into character for this.

When the time was up they explained to us everything and I felt so dumb. LOL
The solution was right into our faces and we didn’t figure it out and we were 4 people!

Looks like we were not that incredible after all. LOL 🙂

Overall it was a great experience and I loved it!! This is a great activity for team building. I really want to do another one at some point, it was so much fun and was worth every penny!

If you come by the Niagara region someday, I strongly suggest trying the JailBreak escape room. If the jailbreak isn’t your thing, there are a lot more themes out there. You just need to find one that interests you. It is fun, challenging and this is an activity that is very affordable!

If you have done JailBreak before or any other escape room, I’d love to hear about your experience!!
