This week was mixed feelings. One day I had a great workout, the other not so much. I have to say that it was pretty busy at work and I may have been tired, but in either way, I finished my workouts. I started my 3 mins: Run, 2 mins: Walk with no pain, so this was good news. I will continue this week with this workout. I may do the same as the previous weeks and do it for 3 weeks then change it again. I really want to do this right and be able to run pain-free, well at least not having unusual pain as I experienced a few years ago. 🙂
Today was a beautiful day outside, so I decided to take my run intervals outside. I got this app that was telling me when to start or to stop running and my music. It was the best workout of the week! I did 60 mins cardio which came to be 7.5 km at the end! I did it at my own pace and it felt great! As I was running, I thought about how much I was enjoying this. I had no one to tell me to go faster or telling me what to do. I just did it for me. I forgot how I enjoyed running. It gave me the inspiration for this post.
It is important to do it at your own pace.
When you do things at your own pace, you will enjoy it more. You will want to do more.
We need to stop comparing ourselves to others. Yes, you may be slow right now, but speed will come in time. If you do it too fast, there is a risk of injuries and you will get discouraged. Set smaller goals that will lead to your main goal. It is beneficial to have fun and enjoy what you do. Yes, there will be bad days, but keep pushing, better days will follow. What matters the most is to keep moving and be proud of what you’ve achieved so far no matter how big or small it is.
Results will come in time. Find your own pace and go for it!
