In today’s world, we are all looking for the feeling of entitlement. We want to be the best, be above average. We stress ourselves to do more and get noticed. Is it worth it? Does it make you happy or it makes you more miserable? If you are lucky, you will get noticed, but most of us are trying endlessly and are the ones that are left behind. The trill in your head is giving you headaches, have you considered that maybe you’re trying too hard?
This book will make you realize how we stress about meaningless things. We constantly stress about our stress, feel bad about feeling bad, we have thoughts about our thoughts. It’s a never-ending loop. It will show you that we need need to be selective about what we care about, how to turn pain into tools and trauma into power. Pain serves a purpose. It helps us grow!
This book won’t tell you to stop giving a f*ck altogether but focus on things that really matter. Maybe we are just pushing ourselves too hard to please others and have too high of expectations?
Have you ever noticed that when we are fed up with something, we start caring less and things then finally fall into place? Maybe the fact that we try less hatd, gives us an extra boost of energy, confidence and give you the tool you needed to succeed?
What is the most important to you?
Being at the top or being happy? It’s your choice!
For me, I’ve talked about this subject before in a previous post, but is a good example:
I used to be unhappy at my job and wanted so bad to find an exit. I was killing myself to do a good job, staying and do overtime and yet they demoted me in some sneaky way with no reason. It took me a while to figure it out, but when I finally saw what was happening, I shifted my focus elsewhere. I started to not care as much, leave on time an focus on what I enjoyed. I focus on me for once and it made the days bearable. That’s when I received a call from an agency for an interview. Since then, I never looked back. The exit came to me and everything is falling into place.
Change your focus and things will work out just fine!
I strongly suggest this book. You may leave some stuff out if you choose, but everyone can get something useful out of it. It gives you a nice example of things we stress or worry about that really shouldn’t. It definitely makes you think.
