My own blurb…
It was almost Christmas, The Culver family decided to go little road trip to the forest to find the perfect Christmas tree. Focus on their quest, Madison their little 5-year-old baby girl strolled into the forest not knowing there was someone watching from afar. A man, a trapper. When Madison parents were busy finding the tree, the little girl wandered a bit too far. That’s when she disappeared.
Many months passed, the police didn’t find any evidence of where she could be. Madison’s parent was desperate.
3 years has passed since her disappearance… they didn’t want to give up yet. They wanted closure. That’s when they hired Naomi, a private investigator who specializes in finding the lost child. She’s known to have this sense of premonition and ease to find a lost child.
Will she find Madison alive?
Madison, trapped with this unknown man soon enter into an imaginary story. Her favourite children’s book story “Snow Girl”.
She was beaten, living in this filthy underground cellar where the man she called Mr. B kept her locked up. She was not to be found.
Surprisingly, Mr. B grew to like the snow girl and let her out once in a while.
Will he ever let her go? Not a chance.
He showed her trapping. He let her play outside under close supervision.
How long will she be alive for? Will she even stay alive? Will Naomi find her?
I don’t want to spoil the story in case you want to read it. 🙂
My thoughts about this book…
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
The storyline is great, maybe it’s just me, but I found it very difficult to get into the story at first. Maybe it’s how it’s been written. The choice of words made it harder for me to read, but I pushed through and got to the end with absolutely no disappointments. I like the fact that there’s a switch between Naomi and Madison’s story. As Naomi lived a similar situation when she was a child herself, trying to find Madison was an awakening for her. She started remembering the memories she has forgotten and it was a healing process for her. Another book that you want to see what happens next.
